Summary

Sermorelin is a synthetic growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogue proposed as a more physiologic approach to managing adult-onset growth hormone insufficiency by stimulating endogenous GH release [2]. It belongs to a class of GHRH analogues used to activate IGF-1 signaling and is detectable as an administered agent in metabolic/anti-doping analyses, confirming its use as an injectable peptide drug [3,1]. Exploratory bioinformatic work has also proposed potential anti-proliferative and immune-modulating effects in recurrent glioma, though this is hypothesis-generating only [4]. The provided abstracts are largely editorial, analytical, and review in nature rather than primary efficacy RCTs, so while sermorelin is an established clinical agent, the cited literature here does not by itself establish definitive benefit and clinical evidence remains incompletely characterized.
